Game 1 of the ALCS between The Sox and The Rays was simply amazing with The Sox taking a 1-0 lead in the series and took home field advantage.
Dice-K took a no-hitter into the 7th before giving up 2 hits but gets out of it. Amazingly he went 8 1/3 innings with "only" 115 pitches and has 9 Ks. Usually he gets to that count in the 5th.
And the Rays starting pitcher James Shields was almost as tough. But Rays offense squandered alot of opportunities to tie the game.
I must say that one of the things that amazed me the most watching the game was seeing the Rays fans (mostly newly formed) being a great crowd and knowing a great game when they were watching it. There might be some hope for them yet.
